Taxonomy
Pachyphyllum dumonti was named by Sorauf (1998). It is not a trace fossil. Its type locality is Rugosa of the Lime Creek Fmn, Owen Mbr, north-central Iowa, which is in a Frasnian marine limestone in the Lime Creek Formation of Iowa.
