Taxonomy
Kalligramma was named by Walther (1904). It is the type genus of Kalligrammidae, Kalligrammatinae.
It was assigned to Kalligrammidae by Handlirsch (1906); to Kalligrammatinae by Yang et al. (2014); and to Kalligrammatidae by Martynova (1949), Carpenter (1992), Ren and Guo (1996), Makarkin et al. (2012) and Liu et al. (2014).
