Taxonomy
Micmacca ellipsocephaloides was named by Cobbold (1910). Its type specimen is SMC A117a, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Acanthomicmacca ellipsocephaloides by Landing et al. (2008); it was recombined as Acanthomicmacca (Acanthomicmacca) ellipsocephaloides by Geyer (2016).
