Lutzia was named by Franzen (1994). It is not extant. Its type is Lutzia eckfeldensis.
It was assigned to Diacodexeinae by Erfurt and Sudre (1996); to Diacodexinae by McKenna and Bell (1997); to Diacodexeidae by Franzen (2004); and to Eurodexeinae by Theodor et al. (2007).
