Philisis sphingis
Taxonomy
Philisis sphingis was named by Sigé (1985). Its type specimen is YPM 34488, a maxilla (right maxilla with P4-M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry I (Jebel Qatrani Formation), which is in a Rupelian fluvial sandstone/mudstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.
