Taxonomy
Eomerope was named by Cockerell (1909). Its type is Eomerope tortriciformis. It is the type genus of Eomeropinae, Eomeropidae.
It was assigned to Notiothaumidae by Carpenter (1972); to Eomeropinae by Willmann (1978); and to Eomeropidae by Cockerell (1909), Ponomarenko (1974), Carpenter (1992).
