Ardea polkensis
Taxonomy
Ardea polkensis was named by Brodkorb (1955). Its type specimen is Pierce Brodkorb #308, a limb element (proximal right tarsometatarsus), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Palmetto Mine, which is in a Hemphillian marginal marine sandstone in the Peace River Formation of Florida.
