Taxonomy
Titanohyrax mongereaui was named by Sudre (1979). Its type specimen is GZ-I, a tooth (M2/), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Glib Zegdou Locus 4, which is in a Ypresian/Lutetian lacustrine marl in Algeria.
