Sarnacius gingerichi
Taxonomy
Berruvius gingerichi was named by Russell (1981). Its type specimen is CR-508-SLP, a mandible (right dentary fragment with M1 and alveoli for I1-2, C, P2-4, M2-3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Cernay, which is in a Thanetian terrestrial horizon in the Conglomérat de Cernay Formation of France. It is the type species of Sarnacius, Berruvius.
It was recombined as Sarnacius gingerichi by Hooker et al. (1999).
