Taxonomy
Lushius qinlinensis was named by Chow (1961). Its type specimen is IVPP V2466, a maxilla (maxilla fragment with the right P4-M3), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Mengjiapo, fossil locality no. 57202, Lushi basin, which is in an Eocene lacustrine marl/siltstone in the Lushi Formation of China. It is the type species of Lushius.
