Taxonomy
Megadesmus globosus was named by Sowerby (1838). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Harper's Hill, Hunter Valley (Mitchell coll), which is in a Sakmarian coastal sandstone in the Allandale Formation of Australia.
It was recombined as Pachydomus globosus by Morris (1845), M'Coy (1847), Etheridge (1880).
