Anchomomys (Fendantia) pygmaeus

Taxonomy
Caenopithecus pygmaeus was named by Rütimeyer (1890). Its type specimen is BNM Ef 367, a tooth (right [upper] M1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Egerkingen, Huppersand fissure, which is in a Bartonian fissure fill horizon in Switzerland.

It was recombined as Anchomomys pygmaeus by Stehlin (1916) and Szalay (1974); it was synonymized subjectively with Anchomomys stehlini by Gingerich (1977); it was recombined as Periconodon pygmaeus by Gingerich (1977) and Szalay and Delson (1979); it was recombined as Fendantia pygmaeus by Schwartz and Tattersall (1983); it was recombined as Anchomomys (Fendantia) pygmaeus by Godinot (1998).
