Taxonomy
Etherilosia carolynae was named by Archbold (1995). Its type specimen is CPC 33513, a valve (Ventral valve, external mold), and it is a mold. Its type locality is Carolyn Bore, Mount Tuckfield, which is in a Sakmarian marine sandstone/claystone in the Carolyn Formation of Australia.
