Taxonomy
Ctenacanthus mutabilis was named by Branson (1933). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Middle Fork Popo Agie River, Wind River Mountains, which is in a Wuchiapingian offshore shale in the Phosphoria Formation of Wyoming.
