Archipanorpa was named by Tillyard (1917). It is not extant. Its type is Archipanorpa magnifica. It is the type genus of Archipanorpidae.

It was assigned to Archipanorpidae by Tillyard (1917), Tillyard (1922), Tillyard (1923), Riek (1956), Willmann (1978); and to Neoptera by Carpenter (1992).
