Taxonomy
Micropeplus was named by Latreille (1809). It is extant. It is the type genus of Micropeplida.

It was assigned to Staphylinidae by Carpenter (1992); and to Micropeplinae by Herman (2001), Bouchard et al. (2011), Chatzimanolis (2018), Jiang et al. (2020), Jenkins Shaw et al. (2024).
