Taxonomy
Coracopsis was named by Wagler (1832). It is extant. It is the type genus of Coracopseinae.

It was synonymized subjectively with Mascarinus by Clements et al. (2017).

It was assigned to Psittacidae by Burney et al. (2008); and to Coracopseinae by del Hoyo et al. (2014) and Podsiadlowski et al. (2017).
