Taxonomy
Hemiacodon engardae was named by Murphey and Dunn (2009). Its type specimen is UCM 67874, a mandible (right dentary fragment with P3-M2), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Donna's Locality, which is in an Uintan terrestrial claystone in the Bridger Formation of Wyoming.
