Taxonomy
Macropus (Macropus) rama was named by Bartholomai (1975). Its type specimen is QM F4773, a partial skull (upper and lower dentition), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is King Creek, Pilton, which is in a Pleistocene fluvial horizon in Australia.
It was recombined as Macropus rama by Dawson and Flannery (1985).
