Taxonomy
Falcimytilus was named by Cox (1937) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori J Tith-u Sepkoski's reference number: 94,663]. It is not extant. Its type is Mytilus suprajurensis.
It was assigned to Modiolinae by Yamani (1982); to Mytiloida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Mytilidae by Vokes (1980) and Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
