Taxonomy
Skolekophyllum breviseptatum was named by Cai (1986). Its type specimen is XR-030-031 and is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Laohutai KG2-III-52, Baicheng, which is in an Artinskian carbonate limestone in the Kangkelin Formation of China.
