Taxonomy
Plerophyllum ziyunense was named by Wang (1978). It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Huohongchong, Maokou Fm, Yangchang, Ziyun County, which is in a Roadian/Capitanian carbonate limestone in the Maokou Formation of China.
