Apidium moustafai
Taxonomy
Apidium moustafai was named by Simons (1962). Its type specimen is CGM 26919, a mandible (left dentary preserving p3-m1), and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Quarry G (Jebel Qatrani Formation) (= "upper sequence"), which is in a Rupelian fluvial sandstone in the Jebel Qatrani Formation of Egypt.
