Taxonomy
Chioneryx was named by Iredale (1924) [Sepkoski's age data: T Plio R Sepkoski's reference number: 1112]. It is extant. Its type is Erycina cardioides.

It was assigned to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Venerinae by Coan and Valentich-Scott (2012).
