Euarchistigmatinae was named by Carle and Wighton (1990). It is not extant. Its type is Euarchistigma.

It was reranked as the tribe Euarchistigmatini by Wappler (2003) and Bechly (2007).

It was assigned to Thaumatoneurinae by Wappler (2003) and Bechly (2007); and to Thaumatoneuridae by Bechly (2010) and Huang et al. (2017).
