Taxonomy
Bellerophon (Patellostium) revolvens was named by Williams and Breger (1916) [Bellerophon carinata of Williams in Williams & Gregory 1900 p. 85 – 86.]. It is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is locality 1100A, between Parlin Pond and Detroit, Parlin Pond Township, which is in a Lochkovian delta front sandstone in the Chapman Sandstone Formation of Maine.
