Taxonomy
Chresmoda was named by Germar (1839). Its type is Chresmoda obscura. It is the type genus of Chresmodidae.
It was assigned to Acrididae by Deichmüller (1886); and to Chresmodidae by Handlirsch (1906), Martynov (1928), Sharov (1968), Nel et al. (2004), Zhang et al. (2009) and Zhang et al. (2017).
