Parapermula tatarica was named by Aristov (2004). Its type specimen is PIN 3286/10, a forewing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Chepanikha, Bakhilka River valley (PIN collection 3286), which is in a Wordian terrestrial horizon in the Russian Federation.
