Taxonomy
Depressopterum minutus was named by Béthoux et al. (2005). Its type specimen is Ld LAP 136AB, a forewing (left forewing), and it is an impression. Its type locality is F19, Arièges, Lodève Basin, which is in a Kungurian pond claystone in the Salagou Formation of France.
