Taxonomy
Ovivagina insculpta was named by Zhang (1997). Its type specimen is 93-HG-22/K1 and is an impression. Its type locality is Honggou, Shawan County, which is in a Toarcian lacustrine sandstone in the Sangonghe Formation of China.
It was recombined as Artematopodites insculptus by Yan and Zhang (2010).
