Taxonomy
Cordulagomphus europaeus was named by Vernoux et al. (2010). Its type specimen is BMB 018649-50, a forewing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Auclaye Brickworks (BMB collection), which is in a Barremian lagoonal claystone in the Weald Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
