Taxonomy
Notocearagryllus grandispeculum was named by Gorochov et al. (2006). Its type specimen is BMB 025003/-4, a tegmen (male tegmen), and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is Rudgwick Brickworks, Upper Weald Clay, which is in a Barremian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Weald Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
