Vitimiidae was named by Sharov (1968). It is not extant. Its type is Vitimia.

It was assigned to Oedischiidea by Sharov (1968); and to Ensifera by Gorochov (1989), Carpenter (1992), Gorochov (1995) and Gorochov et al. (2006).
