Taxonomy
Mesolocustopsis anglica was named by Gorochov et al. (2006). It is considered to be a form taxon. Its type specimen is MNEMG 2003.55, a tegmen, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Durlston Bay, Bed DB175, Swanage (MNEMG collection), which is in a Berriasian lagoonal siliciclastic in the Durlston Formation of the United Kingdom.
