It was assigned to Calotermitinae by Froggatt (1897); to Hodotermitidae by Burnham (1978), Carpenter (1992); to Termopsidae by Nel and Paicheler (1993); to Termopsinae by Emerson (1933), Snyder (1949), Fontes and Vulcano (1998); and to Archotermopsidae by Krishna et al. (2013).
