Taxonomy
Paraphillipsia aglypta was named by Chamberlain (1977). Its type specimen is UA 2439, a pygidium, and it is a 3D body fossil. Its type locality is Rainbow Mountain D-5, Alaska Range, which is in a Sakmarian marine limestone/mudstone in the Phelan Creek Formation of Alaska.
