Olgamartynovia turanica was named by Becker-Migdisova (1958). Its type specimen is PIN 358/469, a tegmen (Part of Body and elytra), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Sogyuty, Issyk-Kul (PIN Collection 358), which is in a Hettangian/Sinemurian lacustrine - small siliciclastic in the Dzhil Formation of Kyrgyzstan.

It was recombined as Cicadocoris turanicus by Dong et al. (2013), Jiang et al. (2018).
