Taxonomy
Isopristes was named by Nicol and Allen (1953) [Sepkoski's age data: Tr Nori]. It is not extant. Its type is Isopristes crassus.

It was assigned to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Cardiniidae by Nicol and Allen (1953), Ros-Franch et al. (2014).
