Lasaeina was named by Cossmann (1910) [Sepkoski's age data: T Mi-l-u].

It was assigned to Sportellidae by Wienrich (1999); to Veneroida by Sepkoski (2002); and to Galeommatidae by Marquet (2005), Moths et al. (2010).
