Robergia marginalis was named by Raymond (1925). Its type specimen is MCZ 1722, a cephalon/head (cranidium), and it is a 3D body fossil.
It was recombined as Eorobergia marginalis by Cooper (1953), Nikolaisen (1991) and Fortey and Bruton (2013).
