Taxonomy
Paraliupanshania britannica was named by Bechly et al. (2001). Its type specimen is BMBN 016388, a hindwing (distal half), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Rudgwick Brickworks, Upper Weald Clay, which is in a Barremian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal horizon in the Weald Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
