Gomphaeschnaoides obliquus

Taxonomy
Gomphaeschna obliqua was named by Wighton (1987). Its type specimen is AMNH 43257, an exoskeleton (body fragment with two hindwings), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Crato (AMNH collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.

It was recombined as Gomphaeschnaoides obliqua by Carle and Wighton (1990), Nel and Paicheler (1994); it was recombined as Gomphaeschnaoides obliquus by Bechly et al. (2001), Bechly (2007).
