Taxonomy
Gomphaeschnaoides magnus was named by Bechly et al. (2001). Its type specimen is JME AP 1997/2, an exoskeleton (female), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Crato (JME collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
