Taxonomy
Gomphaeschnaoides betoreti was named by Bechly et al. (2001). Its type specimen is BSP 11, an exoskeleton (female), and it is an impression. Its type locality is Crato (BSP collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.
