Meiatermes araripena

Taxonomy
Meiatermes araripena was named by Krishna (1990). Its type specimen is AMNH 43902, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Crato (AMNH collection), which is in an Aptian lacustrine - large carbonate in the Crato Formation of Brazil.

It was recombined as Cretatermes araripena by Fontes and Vulcano (1998); it was recombined as Nordestinatermes araripena by Bechly (2007).
