Baieropsis was named by Fontaine (1889). It is not extant. It is considered to be a form taxon.

It was synonymized subjectively with Acrostichopteris by Knowlton (1919).

It was assigned to Schizaeaceae by Berry (1911); and to Ginkgophyta by Andrews (1970).
