Solnhofenia stoebeneri
Taxonomy
Solnhofenia stoebeneri was named by Bechly (2000). Its type specimen is SMNS 64274, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Blumenberg quarry, Eichstätt, which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Altmühltal Formation of Germany. It is the type species of Solnhofenia.
