Angloaeschnidium lacaui was named by Fleck and Nel (2003). Its type specimen is BMB 018672/3, a wing, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Auclaye Brickworks (BMB collection), which is in a Barremian lagoonal claystone in the Weald Clay Formation of the United Kingdom.
