Misofaeschnidium densum
Taxonomy
Libellula densa was named by Hagen (1862). Its type specimen is BSPG I.1032, an exoskeleton, and it is an impression. Its type locality is Solnhofen (BSPGM Munich coll), which is in a Tithonian lagoonal/restricted shallow subtidal lime mudstone in the Solnhofen Formation of Germany.
It was recombined as Estemoa densa by Deichmüller (1886); it was recombined as Aeschnidium densum by Kirby (1890), Handlirsch (1906), Ponomarenko (1985), Nel and Martínez-Delclòs (1993), Schweigert et al. (1996); it was recombined as Misofaeschnidium densum by Fleck and Nel (2003).
