Taxonomy

Enallagma was named by Charpentier (1840). It is extant.

It was assigned to Agrionidae by Cockerell (1909); and to Coenagrionidae by Carpenter (1992).

Synonyms

Sobobapteron was named by Pierce (1965).

It was synonymized subjectively with Enallagma by Carpenter (1968), Carpenter (1992).

It was assigned to Hapalopteroidea by Pierce (1965).
Sobobapteron kirkbyae was named by Pierce (1965). Its type specimen is LACMIP S9112, a wing, and it is a compression fossil. Its type locality is LACMIP 437, Soboba Reservation, which is in an Irvingtonian wet floodplain shale in the Bautista Formation of California.

It was considered a nomen dubium by Carpenter (1968).
